Crackle Glaze makes cracks between two layers of paint so that the lower layer of paint is visible.
First you paint the bottom layer. Allow to dry and then apply a coat of Crackle Glaze. Let this layer dry too. Then you paint the second layer, the best in a contrasting color. Within minutes you will see cracks in the upper layer of paint.
If you dilute the top coat with some water, the cracks will be larger.
Leave to dry and finish with wax.
Crackle Glaze makes big cracks in your work. If you are looking for a system that makes small porcelain-like cracks, choose the Craquelure system.
